Our commitment
RL Remodeling wants this site to be usable by everyone, including people who navigate with screen readers, keyboards, voice input, and other assistive tools. We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA.
What we’ve done
- Semantic HTML throughout — meaningful headings, landmarks, lists, and form labels.
- A skip-link on every page that jumps focus straight to the main content.
- Alt text on portfolio images so screen-reader users hear what each project shows.
- Sufficient color contrast — the site uses a black-and-white palette that exceeds WCAG AA contrast ratios for body text and interactive elements.
- Keyboard-navigable navigation, including the mobile menu and the contact form.
- Descriptive labels on every form field, with required fields marked clearly.
- Visible focus states so keyboard users can see where they are on the page.
Known gaps
We’re a small team and we’re honest about where we’re still working:
- Portfolio photos uploaded by the owner may occasionally lack alt text. We review the portfolio monthly and add descriptions where they’re missing.
- Some external embeds (Google Fonts, Material Symbols icons) inherit accessibility behavior from third parties we don’t control.
Help and feedback
If any part of this site is hard for you to use, please tell us. Email [email protected] or call (708) 244-6132. We respond within two business days, and we can answer questions in English or Spanish — en inglés o español.
If you would prefer to share project details by phone instead of using the contact form, just call us. We’ll take down the same information that way.
